Author Guidelines

Requirements to the layout and the procedure of submission

The Series accept original scholarly articles, not published before, by authors from all regions of Russia, CIS and other countries:

  • higher educational institutions staff;
  • Doctoral degree students;
  • postgraduate students;
  • Master’s students (current)
  • as well as other people involved in scholarly research.

Requirements to the content of articles:

An article must be original, not published before. It will be checked for plagiarism.UDC is assigned by the Scientific Library.Abstract: it has to be structures according to the IMRAD principle – Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, presenting the relevance, goals and objectives of a research; how the research was conducted, what methods were used; main conclusions, results of the research; perspectives and directions for further research.

The Abstract should be at least 150 words long. Articles for the Anniversaries Section go without abstracts.

Keywords: at least 10 words/word combinations, they must be laconic, represent the main idea and specifics of the article. The abstract and keywords are to be translated into English.

Structure of the article:

The introduction contains a statement of the question, brief review of scholarly literature on the topic (links to sources), criticism of the disadvantages and advantages of the proposed approach. A clear statement of the aim of the work is required.

The main body should be entitled and divided into section, basing on the content. The sections should be entitled depending on the content. The introduction, sections and conclusion are not  numbered. All examples in English and other languages should come with Russian translation.

The conclusion contains main conclusions on the main body. Avoid simple listing of the material presented in the article.

The literature is given under the heading “References“. The references list is additionally duplicated in Latin according to the system of the USA Library of Congress (LC, website for transliteration: http://translit.ru), with the original source’s translation in square brackets. All the sources are listed in the order of their appearance in the text. For periodicals, it is necessary to indicate the author’s surname, initials, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the year of publication, volume, number or issue, the starting and ending pages of the work.

Information about author(s) in Russian and in English is given on a separate page: full name, academic degree (if any), academic title (if any), affiliation, position, e-mail, contact phone number(for communication with the Editorial Office).

Article volume: including illustrations and references – 6-12 pages; Anniversaries section – 2-3 pages.

Article Layout Requirements

MS Word editor, A4 format, portrait orientation; margins (top – 2.0 cm, bottom – 3.0 cm, left – 2.5 cm, right – 2.5 cm); paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm; interval – 1.5; body size – 14 (with automated word shift); abstract size – 12; font – Times New Roman.

Shortenings are only generally accepted (in a text and in tables). All abbreviations and acronyms should be introduced the first time they are used in the text. All tables include headings and continuous numbering within the article denoted with Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1); in the text, references are given in a shortened form (Tab. 1). The text of a table should be double-spaced; tables’ content should not be the same with the article’s text. In works of biological cycle, the title and the text of the table have only Latin names of species, genus and families. The comment to the table comes under the table.

Formulas include continuous numeration. A number is written at the end of a line with Arabic numerals in round brackets. There should be at least 1.5-2 cm intervals between the formulas that are highlighted in a separate line and the text, as well as between the lines of the formulas.

Illustrated material (graphs, maps, diagrams, photographs) is named Figures, has continuous numeration in Arabic numbers and is written in abbreviated form (e.g., Fig. 1). Color images (graphs, diagrams) are accepted. The size of the figure is between 40x50 and 120x170 mm. The figure containing indications of the dimensions of the quantities shown in the figure, is placed under the figure.

References in the text are written as a number in Arabic numeral in square brackets. [5, p.67] – for one-page sources; [3, p. 12-56] – for multiple-page sources; [1, 2, 3] – for several sources without pages; [1, p. 34; 2, p. 45] – for several sources with pages.

There is no fee for the publication of manuscripts.
Articles submitted without observing the above requirements are not to be considered.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.
